Within the scope of academic advising activities, an academic advising meeting was held on 24.12.2025 at 10:30 a.m. in Amphitheater II, with the aim of informing students about academic and administrative processes. The following issues were addressed during the meeting:
1. General Information
Information was provided on the purpose, scope, and operation of the academic advising system; the duties and responsibilities of academic advisors, as well as students’ obligations within the advising process, were explained.
2. Academic Advisor Office Hours
Students were informed about the weekly office days and hours of their academic advisors; explanations were given on how students can contact their advisors through face-to-face and/or online platforms.
3. Course Registration and Advisor Approval Process
Information was provided regarding course registration, add–drop procedures, and advisor approval processes; key points to be considered during transactions conducted via the Student Information System (SIS)—such as prerequisite courses, credit load, and course repetitions—were emphasized.
4. Horizontal Transfer Procedures
General information was provided on internal and inter-institutional horizontal transfers, as well as transfers based on centralized placement scores; explanations were given regarding application requirements, application dates, and required documents.
5. Students’ Academic Status
Students’ overall academic performance was evaluated; the importance of grade point average, the status of failed courses, the maximum duration of study, and issues related to improving academic success were discussed.
6. Students’ Opinions, Suggestions, Requests, and Demands
Within the scope of the meeting, students’ opinions, suggestions, requests, and demands regarding educational activities were collected; it was stated that the submitted issues would be recorded and forwarded to the relevant units.
The meeting concluded after the students’ questions were answered.
