Common Compulsory Foreign Language (English) Exemption Exam
INFORMATION NOTE ON THE COMMON COMPULSORY FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ENGLISH) EXEMPTION EXAM
The Common Compulsory Foreign Language (English) Exemption Exam will be held on Friday, 26 September 2025, at 15:00, in face-to-face sessions at the Faculties or Vocational Schools where students are registered.
Students who are newly enrolled at our University and will be taking Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II for the first time may sit the exam. This right may be used only once.
Students who have transferred horizontally or vertically, as well as students currently in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year, are not eligible to take the exam.
Students attending the exam must carry one of the following official identification documents: ID card, driver’s license, or passport.
The exam will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions and the duration is 50 minutes.
Examination results will be sent to the Dean’s Offices of the Faculties or the Directorates of the Vocational Schools where students are registered. Students may obtain their results from the student affairs office of their own faculty/vocational school.
Pursuant to Article 17/1 of the Balıkesir University Associate and Undergraduate Education–Instruction Regulation, students must score at least 60 points (CC) on the exam to be exempt from the courses YDI 1101 and YDI 1201.
Students who score 60 or above will be exempt from the relevant course.
By taking the exam, each student is deemed to have accepted the procedures and principles of the examination.
